This is a real blow to the beauty of Manitoulin Island and La Cloche. It should never have been allowed to happen.

Beautiful Manitoulin Island will soon see 24 2.5MW turbines on MacLean’s Mountain.
370 comments from the public were sent to the Ministry of Environment. What was that that McGuinty said today? “… Proposed wind turbine projects that do not have local support “will go to the back of the line.”” Wow, somehow these two statements do not add up, McGuinty.

The Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health’s report concluded that scientific evidence available to date does not demonstrate a direct causal link between wind turbine noise and adverse health effects. Scientific evidence to date indicates that, at the typical setback distances in Ontario, there is no direct health risk from wind turbine noise, including low frequency noise and infrasound.
